Hasselblad Flash Bracket II 46330 users?

Still looking for a flash bracket/handle for my SWC. I noted that the 46330 has a cable release partly protruding from the right side. Wondering if this is a regular/standard cable release, that I can connect a cable release extension to, or a special adapter for the EL and ELX models? I can't find the manual for the bracket and no pictures yet that are detailed enough to have a close look.

I'm going through some old catalogs 1990 through 1998, these show 46330, this grip is for the later electric cameras the cable you see is an electric plug that inserts into the EL cameras.
My catalogs aren't old enough to show, they made one, like what I had for my 903 SWC. The other option is the last grip made (part is all Hasselblad, part is Sunpak) is the Snap-lock flash grip 45169. This will take the new foot and has a conventional cable release that will allow you to hook up to the SWC.
The other thing would be to find a Hasselblad technician that could switch your camera's foot back to the earlier, very common foot.
If you have a SWC with no 903 or other numbers it probably, has had, the plate switched????
Hasselblad changed this so they could sell more grips etc.

I found in an old catalog, I'm guessing c.1976 Hasselblad made a 45020 . For 500C/M, 500C and SWC. it uses a cable release that can be detached from the base and attached to the SWC. this may be what you have. Someone here will recommend Samy's Camera in LA.

OK, so now I'm getting somewhere. You can confirm that the Snap-lock flash grip 45169 works with the 903 it must also work with the SWC/M (with the new foot style), right? No interference with dark slide?

Oh, yes I have the 45020 and see it on the system chart. Looks like it was designed for the early SWC with the old style foot.

I don't know if the snap-lock bracket will work, I'd imagine it would. It allows you to angle the grip to several positions, and has 2 cold shoes for mounting flash. I prefer the original style, it fits my hand perfectly. I always use a grip, best of luck, Mike

The Hasselbald snap-lock grip seems to be a very expensive solution and never available at an "affordable price".

To meet a very similar need I found a used flash handle onto which I attached a Hasselblad quick release plate. There are many flash handles on ebay, for instance, that are "off-brand" and very affordable. It was quite easy to find a good deal on a Stroboframe that met my needs so I went with that better known brand because it offered some adjustability and system components, like a cold shoe, that I needed. The downside is that a PC cord is required between shutter and camera and a cable release, which is not integrated into the handle. For me, those potential detractors were not deal-breakers.

Thanks Brian. I'm trying out a more affordable option as well that has a cable release and a cold shoe. It's the Vivitar PG-1 left hand grip with the CB-66 camera plate. It's still not the best solution. I'll make a short review with pictures when I get a chance....final exam time coming up.

Regarding the Hasselblad 45169, it does come up at a more "reasonable" price now and then. The few that are selling now are double the price of the 2 that sold about two months ago...
