When I try to wind my FE 203 the winder won't move. I can press the center button on the winder and then wind it. I can then take a shot but when I go to wind it, it is jammed again. Also when I do wind it (by pressing the the center button) the film does not advance. Any help would be appreciated.
Firing it with the film back removed?
Is this using the Focal plane shutter?
Any CF lenses - try in C mode as well perhaps if you have that?
I still guess battery related issue.
As far as I recall, pressing the center button is how you take a double exposure, so the film not advancing is the correct behavior.
C4,
Very interesting. I was under the impression that the battery was only needed for the light meter.
In any case, the battery appeared dead. The bad news is that I tried 2 other batteries and the electronics did not respond. I may be left with a beautiful but non functioning work of industrial art.
PS: I called Hasselblad USA and they will work on the camera. I'm just not sure it's worth what I suspect will be a very expensive repair. I may be in NJ near their HQ later this year and if I can bring it in they will give me an estimate at no cost.
Thxs. I'm not sure what you mean by "the handle". The winder I am referring to is the manual one. If the fuse is somewhere in that or on the camera just let me know and I'll look for it.
