Hasselblad A12 Back and Polaroid back humidity issue?

A friend of mine has a Hasselblad camera. I borrow it from him, every two months.
He is very kind to give it to me on loan. I was talking to him the other day. I asked
him if he never felt the need of having an additional film back. The camera has an
A12 on. He then showed me another A12 and also a polaroid back.

The 'skin' from the A12 film back he showed me, shrank and is peeling from the film back.
Both the A12 film back and the polaroid back were stored away in their original boxes
for several years. As a result, humidity acted upon them. My friend doesn't dare to
use them yet without taking any precautions. He wants to put new skin on the back as
well.

He wonders about if he could use the back for six months to a year without sending it
yet for a CLA. The back was new, (literally only a few rolls through). He doesn't want to
do something that may damage the back, though. So, if you think it needs a CLA or
some sort of maintenance, please do let me know. I would appreciate it : )!!!

He also wonders what kind of material could he use to glue the new skin. (He doesn't
mind much the color, nor the material). I would also appreciate recommendations to glue
the new skin to the A12 film back.

Yes, there is a 'gray line' at the edge of each 'skin' part.
In the inside the back looks very nice. I didn't notice any
corrosion. It was early evening when I looked at it. I
imagine that if there are a few tiny spots of corrosion,
they could be removed with an anticorrosion chemical
and a Q-tip, isn't?. Even though I wouldn't know which
chemical would be better to kindly apply to it.

This guy does not want to use the back until it may be
looked by a technician. The back looked flawless to me.
But he says that when he bought his used Hasselblad
camera, seemed like it had not been CLAed. He used it
for some twenty rolls and the curtain started to get slow
and had to send it to be adjusted. He is afraid something
may happen to the back if it us used. I don't know if I
should fully agree or disagree with him.
