Hasselblad 80mm lens leaf shutter problem diagnosis?

Hi,

So the leaf shutter in this 80mm lens does the same thing on all speeds... Does anyone have a diagnosis and possible repair cost?

Nothing is wrong.

Fire shutter
Mirror goes up
Shutter closes, iris stops down
Back doors open
Shutter opens
Shutter closes
Back doors close

Then wind the crank which lowers the mirror, opens the shutter and opens the iris

The first shots are at about 1/4 second though and it is noticeable that the shutter doesn't have the right time. My other lenses have that click, flop, clack, whir, clack, flop thing happening on slower speeds and you can visually see that it's open for those slower speeds.

If you see towards the end of the video where I show a shot through the back it appears the shutter doesn't open up at all...

Back ground information. All Hasselblad lens shutters fire at 1/500 second. The rest of the timing is done by the escapement mechanism. Sometimes a sticky shutter can be cleared by repeated firings but if it is gummed up enough then a CLA is needed.

Ok, so the lens is probably firing at 1/500th then. Will a CLA fix this problem or is it a special fix?

Updated! I'm in Norway Everything gets sent to either Denmark or Sweden. Cheapest to send to somewhere else in Europe I would think and even cheaper in the states...

Yeah I have been in contact with David before. He's the first place I will look to (after figuring out postage). Seems like a nice guy as well! He's running a great charity raffle at the moment

To agree with SG, it should just need a CLA on the lens. All the body does is cock and fire the shutter*, has nothing to do with timing.

* Yeah, advances film too.

Great! So what is it actually that is stopping the different shutter speeds from working do you think?

The shutter probably has not been used for a long time and the lubricants congealed. A Hasselblad repair man told me last week that Hasselblad lenses should be fired and cocked several times every three months. To cock a lens off the camera use a Hasselblad lens tool https://www.google.com/search?q=has...SG77vJAhUCCz4KHboYCoMQsxgIHQ&biw=1366&bih=629 to turn the screw on the back of the lens back to the red dot. To fire the lens off the shutter, move the lock pin towards the ring.

Yep, I used to live in Bergen so made contact already and he quoted about 1500-2000kr

Usually old lubricant. It turns to gum.

I don't know if this guy is a spescialist but he's had his store a very long time and no doubt has experience with Hasselblads. Major camera stores send off to specialists in Denmark and Sweden from here. Price quote on that was between 2-4000kr plus shipping.
