Dave is excellent and very reasonable. In fact, he just refurbished an A12 back for me. Like new.. 100 bucks. He takes drop-offs at Camera Connect in Redford, but also uses UPS for shipping. You ship it to him, he gives an estimate. Repairs are done and it comes back via UPS. Very easy. Never had a problem.

I had David Odess check it and the verdict is just short of $400. That's way more than I expected. I will call Dave Easterwood tomorrow.

Just got my lens back from David Odess and talked to Dave Easterwood, sounds like a nice guy. I will send or drop off the patient next week.

estimate by david-odess ~ $400
repaired by Dave Easterwood for $128

What a price difference, I visited him at his home based repair shop. This is the coolest camera basement I have seen, he has all kinds of bodies and lenses starting from ~1800 till today even some digital patients. Most of them are being used as parts.
Turnaround time was for my 80mm older c lens and a A12 back less than a week, all arrived insured and well packed via USPS.
5 stars out of 5, next trouble I have that’s where I go for sure.
