I have oodles of 120 film right now. I shoot 98% black & white. I will work on getting the A12. I'll just shoot the 11 frames each time until then.

I wondered why it would matter...... as far as the loss of sharpness using 120 film on the A24. I didn't seem to make sense.

First of all: congrad's !

Why it should matter: the A24 is designed for film without the paper backing so for 220 film.
The A12 is designed for film + paper backing.

Having said that it seems to me that the only difence you will have is a slight more pressure to your film by the pressure plate.
The best way to check it out is make one or 2 pic's with the A24 and 120 film at wide open aperture and see if the pic's come out sharp.
If so you can use it with just one thing: do not forget to end the film after 12 exposures !!!!

The only difference between an A12 120 back and an A24 220 back is in the film spacing mechanism and frame counter.

There need not be any other difference.

The sprung (!) pressure plate is pushing the film against the edge of the film gate, putting it in the correct place.
It does that equally well, no matter with or without backing paper. No matter how thick or thin the film base. All variance is dealt with by the pressure plate.

So by all means, run your test. Then figure out a reason for any difference you may think you've found.
For it will not be due to pressure plates, backing paper or the lack thereof.

It's not at all meant to be unfriendly, but i'll repeat what i said earlier:
Whoever thinks it makes a difference simply does not know what he or she is talking about.
