Hi,

I'm a new owner of a 553ELX. It comes with a black rectangle shutter release. This shutter release has no socket for a cable release, but can be removed and replaced by an electric cable release. The electric cable release cannot be locked in the "triggered" state.

How can I do long-time exposures with this camera? I of course don't want to press and hold the release or electric cable release for 5 minutes or so.

regards,
chris

Ah. Ok.

A different workflow to what I'm used to do, but ok (I need to remember that).

Using the lever will also save battery when using longer exposures. When using the normal release, the battery is drained permanently while the shutter is open, when using the lever, this is not the case.
