Hi,
I recently obtained a (beautiful) 553ELX which I have been greatly enjoying (I shoot frequently with tubes and telephoto lenses and the gliding mirror has been great).
Unfortunately, very shortly after purchasing it, the rotating latch that locks the battery compartment closed cracked in two (the long post which connects the turning disc on the outside to the two metal posts that 'lock' on the inside).
Does anybody have any experiencing repairing this item, or are you aware of a location that it would be possible to get a replacement? It's quite simple really, a piece of plastic and two metal posts.
I see that someone has 3-D printed replacements, but I have no easy access to such a device:

Furthermore, I'd far prefer to keep the cameras original appearance.
Here's hoping it all works out... I'd love to get shooting with it again!
