Hi All,
Is it still possible to buy a new Hasselblad 503CW, do they still make these cameras?
I want to purchase one end of this year

I just bought Nikon FM3A with 50mm 1.8 Ai-s and I love it (sold all my canon digital stuff last year)

Thank you

I always used to regard the Hasselblad V system as the "holy grail" of medium format, and I am glad to say that I still think of it in those terms with my 501CM. I would definitely take the advice others have posted and see about trying to find a good condition used one, as you can save a ton, even factoring in a fresh CLA servicing. The kit I ended up getting several years ago included original boxes, documentation, camera, accute-matte finder, A12 back, and 80mm CFE lens, and was in mint, mint condition for around $1500.

Good luck in your quest for V!

I also recommend to buy used. You can save about 1/2 of the new price at least. There are often nice ones to be found on Ebay. Just look for the serial number (VHPICTURES code will tell you the year) and for signs of heavy use where the back and the lens mounts. If these parts look pristine, you will most likely get a camera that has not seen much use.
