From KEH? That sounds like a pretty good price and a great kit to start with. Make sure you're getting an acute matte screen in the 501CM--it makes a big difference.
KEH has a 15 day return policy. The only way to do business with KEH is to call them on the phone. Ask them to pull the exact equipment you want. Call back after they pull the equipment from the shlef. Have them describe everything to you. Ask them to make sure that everything is working. A friend skipped the last step when he bought a Fuji folder. It arrived DOA. He reuturned it. Got a refund. Bought a different Fuji camera from KEH. All it cost him was about a month.
Totally agree with Vencha. Buying from KEH is becoming a bit of a cr@p-shoot these days. The last four orders I had from them had problems - either scratched up lenses or non-op bodies. These were all either "bargain" or "EX" grade.
Yes, they take returns, but you pay the shipping, even when they get the description wrong.
The suggestion to call them and have the salesperson look it over is a good one.
You better watch out for the shipping ... MAN DO THEY RIP YOU A NEW ONE !!
I just got a small Mamiya part and a lens cap... Total of $18.00 with a total weight was 7 oz... They BLOODY ripped me for $12.95 shipping UPS GROUND !!
While my friend was waiting for his refund, I found another Fuji RF that suited his needs. He called. Had them fire the shutter. Bought it. He's pleased. He admitted that he skipped the dry fire step with the first camera. It does seem odd that they would put a camera in inventory without checking the shutter. Second purchase went fine. I saw the camera last night. A nice small package. Makes me wonder why I tote around lunch box cameras.
