I have come across an unusual date code on a Hasselblad 500C/M camera body. The number is UUC 193322x. What does the C in UUC indicate? UU should be 1977 but I do not know what the C means.
I bought a new 500C/M in Sep 1977 and I do not remember it having the three letter code. I was working at a camera store at the time (we were an authorized Hasseblad dealer) and I was well aware of the date codes. Perhaps the 500C/M was a NOS 1976 model. I was using a 1955 Hasselblad 1000F with a 1949 Ektar lens at the time.

Hasselblad bodies were built and held on shelves in the factory until sold, so you could have purchased a 77 body brand new in 79 or 80, and it would have the earlier Serial #, if their sales slowed down in different years.
