Hi everyone!
This is my first post, so let me introduce myself.
My name is Enric, I'm from Spain, and I'm an amateur enthusiast (no academic background at all). I've been shooting digital for twenty year until I found an old Canon A1, and then a Bronica ETRS, and now...

Now I've found an offer for a Hasselblad 500 C/M from a reliably proffesional seller, they claim the camera has been CLA'd and in 4/5* condition, with an 80mm 2'8 CB T* also in 4/5* condition. The price is 2000€ / 2100 $.
What do you think? would you buy it? There are no KEH o BH big photography shops around here and you have to dig to find some good and trusty offers (you may trust Kamerastore, but they are in Finland and there may be some customs and taxes issues).

Thank you all and excuse my poor english!
Enric.

Maybe that's the going price for a 500C/M with lens, back, and finder these days. If you can, be sure it works properly before you buy it, or you can get your money back if it does not work. When working properly it's a good camera.

Good luck.

I cannot tell you whether or not it price is good. What is the return policy if the camera has a problem?

Enric, welcome to Photrio!

Hasselblads are great; if you never used one you might want to read the manual or watch a few videos how they operate. It will be your trusted photographic partner for life. Be aware of the warning message in Sirius' signature :D The good news are, there are only a dozen or so lenses you can own, and you will not lose money buying into Hasselblad gear.

Before buying, please also check what kind of focusing screen is in the 500C/M. Chances are you will get the "simplest" plain screen, as shops tend to remove any fancier screen from cameras and sell them separately for up to 300-500 €. Despicable practice, I know. If the camera happens to have one of those fancier screens, best case a grid + split (which tend to be the most expensive), you are in luck. It will sweeten the €2000 asking price.

I mention all this because I think that a focusing aid is important with Hasselblads. It might not be important to you, but if it is, please keep the above in mind.

See below for an excerpt of the official Hasselblad catalog from 1989, to give you an idea of what was available. The grid+split appeared later and is not yet mentioned. It is in German but you will get an idea.

Hi!
Finally bought the camera! It comes with a grid+split focus screen (maybe 42217). It seems to work nice, but I still have to shoot it "for real".
It needs a bit of work with the "leather" of the magazine.

I feel like a kid with a new toy!
