If I were able to get a replacement, is it possible to install it myself or does it require lens disassembly?

A lens tripod support should not require ANY disassembly. I have never seen one that did, ever.

Errr, Hasselblad CF lenses, at least up to and including the 350mm lens (I've not seen the 500mm) don't *have* tripod supports built into the lenses. All you got to do with the trim ring is slide it on the back end of the lens until it snugs up against the focusing ring. No tools, disassembly, or technical expertise required at all.

I agree that there is no need for a tripod support for any lenses other than the 350mm and the 500mm lenses. One would look funny on the 30mm Fisheye.
