I’m new to the Hasselblad system and purchased a nice 501CM. I really enjoy closeup-macro photography, so I purchased a 135mm makro-planar and the auto bellows for my camera.

I’m having some issues with the focusing screen of my camera and the 135mm lens. If my eye and head aren’t perfectly centered to the focusing screen, parts of the image on the screen go dark and can’t be seen. This is a real problem when I’m studying and adjusting the composition of the image.

I believe what is in my camera now is the Acute Matte screen. Not the D as it doesn’t have the two divots on the frame of the screen.

I’m thinking it’s the built-in fresnel of the screen causing a problem with the 135 makro. With the standard 80mm lens, the screen in the camera is marvelous. Shockingly bright and no issues at all with eye placement. The image can be seen from any angle. It’s only the 135 that’s giving me trouble.

Anyone out there use a 135 and experienced this issue?
