First of all, I realize that I don't have a sales history here, although I have been a member a long time. I have been active for years as a member on Photo.net and have several buy and sell transactions there, as well as have been selling watches, fountain pens, cameras, and various other things through Ebay and other venues. I'm happy to link to my Ebay account(which shares my name), my Photo.net profile, or other places I've sold via PM if anyone would like that given my lack of sales history here.
I'm selling my Hasselblad 1000F. I've had this camera for about a year, and have shot a few frames with it but it's just too nice for me to regularly use it.
This is one of the nicest examples of this camera I've ever seen. If it has ever had film run through it, it was likely only a couple of rolls way back in the past. The darkslide shows little wear from being pulled in and out, all the back catches are tight, and the shutter curtains show no wrinkles or other damage.
Basically I really can't find anything to complain about with this camera for condition, but I've tried to provide enough photos for the buyer to judge for themselves. Here's also a thread on Pnet from when I bought it with some comments from others on the camera https://www.photo.net/forums/topic/549986-hasselblad-1000f/
The camera body is in working condition as best as I can tell. The shutter fires at all speeds(I have videos of it firing, not sure if I can get them posted/shared here) and the slow speeds are a bit slow but all work. These cameras use a rather interesting "fan" mechanism for timing the slow speeds(there's a thread running now in the medium format that talks about this in the Soviet clones of the 1000F/1600F). Everything works as it should on this notoriously cantankerous body.
The back is a the Cv1 revision, which was the first of the last major revisions to the backs for the early focal plane cameras. Per my understanding(although I've not tried it) the back is compatible with all 500-series cameras. I used an A12 back to take the few photos I took with this camera. The serial number does match on the insert-note that this insert has the full SN on the pressure plate, not between the rollers like on newer backs, or just the last 3 digits like even newer inserts.
There is a sticker presumably from the shop that originally sold the camera both on the inside of the back shell
Both back and body are date coded "CT" for 1956, which was close to the introduction of the 500C and close to the end of the 1000F.
The lens is the 80mm f/2.8 Zeiss Tessar-a less desireable lens than the Kodak Ektar that shipped with the 1600F, but still an excellent lens. There is some internal dust, but it's overall clean and clear. Note that the 1000F lenses are not automatic diaphragm like the V-system lenses-the lens can be opened up for viewing but must be stopped down manually before shooting.
I'm listing this as a "collector grade" camera as it really was too nice for me to shoot beyond trying it out. If you actually intend to use this, I'd recommend having it serviced, although I don't know who, if anyone, works on these cameras. I expect it would be in top shape with a CLA.
Link to additional photos, since I was limited in what I could include here
I'm asking $700 inc. Shipping to US Addresses for this camera. Interested international buyers please contact me for a shipping quote. If you like the camera but don't like the price, feel free to make me a reasonable offer!(although I feel like this is fair considering the condition and recent Ebay sales).
