Has anybody used Sandy King's Pyro Uno?

I am interested in trying Sandy King's simple pyro developer, but haven't found any examples or reviews of the developer except for the thread that was started some 6 years ago.
Grateful for any info especially regarding dev. times, etc....

Too bad Sandy isn't here anymore, I got a lot out his posts and wisdom. Good guy, too!

Thank you Bob I am also a member of LFF. But what I was actually looking for was opinions/reviews from people other than Sandy but I might pm him anyways.

"Pyro Uno"
TEA 75 ml
Ascorbic acid 1.4 g
Pyrogallol 3.4 g
Metol 0.4 g

TEA to make 100 ml

Mix chemicals in order listed. Will dissolve easily with a hot plate stirrer at about 150F.

Working Solution: 1:50 to 1:200, 1:100 normal.

It (recipe) looks very similar to 510-pyro, except 510-pyro is more concentrated and uses phenidone instead of metol. I would expect similar results. It looks concentrated enough to last like Rodinal.

I was going to make some, but it is really hard sourcing pyrogallol in Canada without a politician on the payroll......

510-pyro can be found here and actual images show up in a flickr search.

My problem is the phenidone which is not as easy to get as metol in Austria, that's why I wanted to try Sandy's Pyro Uno. I am already a Hypercat user but wanted to try something different and quiet frankly simplier.

What I was trying to put across is what ever has been said and seen with 510-pyro is probably true about uno. No "pitch" was intended. I know first hand how difficult it can be to find ingredients.

You might try Disactis It is a french based online shop. I got the phenidone from them.
Delivery should not be an issue as you are on the same continent.

May I ask what it is you find complicated about Hypercat?

Nothing really but being a three Solution mix it is a bit more complicated than Pyro Uno or 510-Pyro

Ah,ok.
I just keep a 0.5% solution of Sodium carbonate made up and use it as a 2 part instead

Last time I wanted to order some phenidone from the US, I could not order it as it was "ground delivery only" but B&H seems to ship it so those are a good news.
