Harrison Film Changing Bag (Large) ONLY DIRECT EXPERIENCE

Hi Im waiting for my 7x17 to arrive and Im gathering last bits of kit.
The dilemma is how many holders to get.
I have 2, I woud like to have more but there is limit to how many one can carry.
So changing film in the field becomes an option. Carry one empty box one full box and changing bag.
My question is has anyone tried to load 7x17 film in 36x36 harrison changing bag?
I previosly had harrison 8x10 tent but had to sell it to finance ilford pop up darkroom, and because it was too small to load film in the 16x20 drum.
I know that harrison jumbo exist but it cost a fortune and take a little time to setup and more then anythink it woud take too much space in a camera bag that is already has 7x17 lens holders darkcloth and two film boxes.
Please share your direct expirience with this changing bag(the biggest I found on the market).
 
I have the jumbo. Loading 8x10 film it is roomy. Also loading 1000’ cinema magazine loads which likely are larger than 17”.
 
These are called film tents, not bags. They set up just like a camping tent with flexible wands. I have both the "Pup" size, suitable for 4x5 holders, as well as the larger full sized one, ample for 8x10.
7X17 is beyond my league of experience.

What I do is place inside a supplementary thin black poly trashcan liner, and clip it with a miniature clothespin to the ceiling. This keeps the film work extra clean. In my kit I also have a little sponge, some nitrile finger cots if there is risk of my fingers being sweaty, and some unscented alcohol wipes. The changeout film boxes are sprayed well in advance with matte acrylic coating to inhibit any cardboard or lint particles. Then there a poly ground cloth if I need to use it on a rock or on the ground.
 
I have a Ritter 7x17 with 3 holders. I also use a Harrison Jumbo. It's doable in the Jumbo. Not a great experience and care needed to manipulate the sheets from box and plastic sleeve to correct orientation and into the holder without touching inside of tent or the base. Risk of scratches and dust. Smaller tent would be impossible in my mind.

Finger cots or something like that is a good idea. Very hard to hold a sheet of 7x17 with one hand without touching emulsion area.

I personally used a butyl acetate matte print lacquer on all sides of all the three-part film boxes because it carries no static charge when dry. But that takes a long time (months) to fully cure with no outgassing risk. Therefore, that's why I recommend a matte acrylic clear spray like the art store variety of Krylon instead, because it outgasses in less than a week.
 

I have a 4x5,8x10,8x20 and 14x17 cameras. I own both of their tents, which are wonderful. I have used it with my 820 which was challenging and I try not to use it for my ULF film.

You might be able to use the 7x17 with the Jumbo tent but your not going to be able to use the 'pup' tent with it. I just looked up the prices. Wow. I bought my ten years ago and I think they were half the price. I think you are better off getting. more holders at those prices.

I got an Ilford darkroom tent for those times I need to change film for my ULF which makes changing film much easier but it has its problems as well.
