Today I learned, to my surprise, that Harmon Photo in Ft. Myers, Florida, has closed. For 30+ years (or is it 40+?) Harmon has been the major pro lab in Southwest Florida (fortunately we have two small pro labs here in Naples, but only one processes B&W).
Over the years Harmon, sadly, morphed into a digital lab, carrying and providing fewer and fewer film products and services.
The lesson of Harmon appears to be that going digital is no panacea.
