I live in a hard water area (Reading, UK) and the house's water supply is passed through a softener. We have two supplies of water: one for drinking, which is unsoftened, and a softened one for everything else. Which one is it best to use for diluting chemicals, or does it not make a difference either way? Alternatively should I boil the water or used bottled water?
You possibly should install a faucet filter and use the water run through that. IMO, the PUR brand works about the best. I used to have a Britta and wasn't impressed with it. I used to live in Texas where the water is so hard it can clog a coffee maker with calcium in less than a weeks time with daily use.
