Yes, that is indeed a thrilling moment. To have a print come out as you envisioned it is awesome. More often than not it takes many tries though.

I said nothing about having it come out right the first time..... In fact, it took two days working on this particular frame. Day 1 to make some trial prints, that evening to stair at it and contemplate my next move, and day 2 to actually do what I thought it would work. But, the end result was EXACTLY as I wanted it. For that, I'm VERY happy.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I found that working on one print at a time gives me the best results. Unfortunately, sometimes that's not possible, but I relish the opportunity when it is possible.

I'm very happy for you! Now go do it again, or make one that's even better than your expectations.

Yes, it has, Bill... I learned to not rush through my process. If I don't wait until my prints are completely dry before I start evaluating them for next adjustment, I misjudge their density. I used to blow through an entire pack like this only to go back to the first few that were actually better....
 
It is like writing a large software program that runs the first time with no bugs! Some of us have done that, several times.

Really?

The legend goes, having a program run the first time correctly without any bugs, is a sad day indeed.... because it only happens ONCE in a programmer's lifetime. That means it will NEVER happen again to the said programmer.... Maybe if you are related genetically to a cat or something then it may happen 9 times....
 

Not sad! It means that I can get on with my work and not fight with a compiler.
 
Since I retired, happiness is waking up every morning at about 9.30 turning over going back to sleep, and not having to go to any lousy job.
 
I do not know if this is the definition of happiness, but since I got divorced I am never wrong and I am no longer stupid!

No, it only means you don't have someone there that will tell you that you're stupid. Of course no one thinks that they themselves are stupid.

I DISAGREE! I have had plenty of forehead palm slapping moments! Like the time I put a 120 film roll out of wrapping into my paper safe (in darkness), then opened it next day to take it out to use it (in full light!).

When I place an order at KEH and don't have to explain a thing to anybody!! Yay.

Your lucky there's worst things, since my wife was cashiered from the Waffen S.S for cruelty, we've been married for forty six years, and she's still with me !
