Hand made Pano 6x17

Interesting, Shane.

No pressure plate(s) needed?

No, there is a pressure plate. Just not in that photo. Its a piece of plastic attached the back that fits between the guide rails with double sided tape and 6mm foam that goes around doors for draft stopping and hole in right spot to see the film numbers

Very nice. As an engineer, I love the design and all the Allen head screws. Does the lens give full coverage across the full width? I assume it must or you would use something different.
Also, what is the brass tube fitting on the back? I'm sure there are no hydraulics involved.

To SMBooth,

Thank you for the pictures.
I suppose that is the camera you've made.
It looks very nice, can you tell me ,briefly, how you made the backs?

I'm mostly interested in how you bend/join the side walls.

To Shane:

Thanks for your advice.

In the picture above,is the film transport aluminum or PVC?

Thanks,

Very nice, all of your cameras. Amazing how the task of attaining a 6x17 negative can result in so many different solutions. Here´s my method, different yet again:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I had my doubts it would be light tight. But no worries there, it works a treat. The wood does expand and contract somewhat, in tune with the weather, but not enough to prove a problem. Focusing is still spot on.
