I've occasionally had what appears to be halation appear around the brightest highlights when I've used stand development -- last night, example, I ran some Foma 100 rated at ISO 100 in Rodinal 1:100 50 minutes one agitation at 25 minutes. The negatives are nice and sharp, grain effectively absent, but around one woman's white blouse photographed under direct sun I get a kind of "glow" that I wish weren't there.
I'm thinking that I should cut back my development time to see if I can retain the qualities of stand development (using Rodinal or other developer) while losing the glow.
Has anyone else had this happen, and what have you done to avoid this problem?
