They emailed to tell me that they'll ship it out as soon as they get it...in about a couple of weeks... odd that a distributor doesn't even have it in stock... but this is Canada,after all!

Yesss Amplis with no stock...over and over and over and over I really am surprised that they get away with holding so many product lines with the quick answer it will come in 2weeks.

It took almost 3 months to bring it in and when it finally did arrive, they didn't contact me.

I sent emails to them about alt printing stuff and they got back with one email, I kind of figured they did not care about what I was trying to peddle, I was not impressed with them.
Downtown Camera is really putting their foot in the analoque world and wet world and I think they are worth supporting.. they have stock in house.

Our industry is in bad shape in Canada... there are some good vendors and then there are the rest who only pay you lip service and never deliver.. It is really getting to be a problem for those
of us relying on product in a timely manner.. The wrong people seem to have a stranglehold on product lines but do not want to stock..

I wonder when the manufacturers will all set up stores to sell direct .

I am being forced to re evaluate my business structure and rather than rely on just in time delivery of products start going back to the days of stocking inventory and with this I will have to pass on the added burden to my clients. I may get savings in buying bulk and with that be able to cover the cost of added stock.
I remember this was how the labs I worked at in the 80's operated , just a very tight reign on stuff.

Wow that is cheap! I bought a 17"x100' roll for well over $100... but it was cheaper than the other stuff they used to carry... I think old stock was called Silkjet.
