Just curious - I see sets of these for sale fairly often, but can't find any reviews. Anyone own 'em, used 'em, have any examples?

Are these glass, solid plastic, or more like wratten filters?

I've been hunting for a deal on a set of 4x4 Tiffen black softnet, but these are often very inexpensive. (For video more than stills, but I figure there's more hassy fans around here...)

Hasselblad also marketed Softars, I believe they were made by Zeiss.

I haven't found that to be universally the case - I've tried glass filters with net sandwiched and plain net over the years... then various modern solutions. There's big differences between things like Glimmerglass, Black Promist, Plain Promist, etc.

About 1/3 into this video they get into the filters, pretty interesting:
