Hello 680 users,

I am planing to build my own simple and compact cable release for the GX680 II.
Can anyone provide information of the pin allocation?

Ok, I have found out the following:

Pin 1 (bottom left) is ground, warning signal + is at pin 3.

When measuring voltage between pin 2 and 7, the camera fired. Taking into account the very high inner resistance that a multimeter should have in its voltage range, some 100 kiloohm should be sufficent to fire the camera. I touched the probes and it also fired. By wednesday I will borrow a resistance decade and do some further research.

Does anybody know which plug type is used here? It has the dimensions of miniature DIN connectors, but these eight pins are placed regulary in a circle. The 8 pin mini DIN type has a more irregular layout.

I don't have any info on the cable release but I was able to rewire the shutter/lens cabling using parts I got and assembled from an online supplier. I don't have their info in front of me but will try to remember to look it up later for you.

I took a look and couldn't find the supplier. Basically I just a google search for the pin connections I was looking for and waded through a few online catalogs. You should be able to find something that fits.
