Guys...what can I do whit Summicron

Hello,
I have sent my summicron lens to Optical instrument (Balham) LTD
they sent me a quot for polish and some more stuff, the told me that it will take 4 weeks, now it is allready almost 7 weeks, they r not replaying to my email and not answering thr phone
I dont know what to do, Anyone have any ideas?

if some body is living near maybe can check for me...what is going on...

anyone? it will be great if some body can check it..even maybe to try call them maybe I am doing something wrong..I am calling from Israel, I dont mind paying someone the check it...

I just tried calling them (020 8664 9799), there's no answer. Surprised the call didn't go to an answer machine. If you have no luck by Monday, I'll try calling again during work hours to see if I can get any sign of activity there.

It may be their fortnight holiday, some UK companies close for 2 week's. If they are mainly older no young kids they'd wait until the rug-rats were back at school

DONT DO THAT!!! I dont know what is the deal overthere but I know that there is no replay from them phone or emails for monht
my summicron is lost foreverrrrrrrrrr RIP

Mark, I'm sorry I didn't get back on this, I actually forgot about calling them come Monday. So I've just phoned now at 13:00 and there's no reply. I tried twice, both times the phone rang on and on, but no answer machine message.

can you call the post office and
see if they are still in business
and speak the the postman who delivers
that route to find out
what is going on ...
sometimes phone and internet are down ...

I'd try an Internet search for other businesses in the same street and give one of them a call. The Post Office may help, but they may not be allowed to give out that sort of information.

If they have gone into receivership/bankruptcy the lens still belongs to you, not the company so you'd need to contact the receivers.

Mark, I don't think it's lost just yet. If I lived closer, I'd drive down and take a look, but I live 100 miles away and that's too far. Perhaps you could pm me some information like the date of postage, tracking number, date of delivery (do you have this?), your details and the lens details and I'll try to see if I can get any help. I can't promise success, but I'll try.

FWIW, the "Registered Office" of the company (on the UK Government trade registry www.companieshouse.gov.uk ) is:

This is the Company's registered address for all official correspondence (but not necessarily the business address, it could be the company's solicitor or accountant).
There is no indication on the registry that the company is out-of-business or
insolvent.
