Gum print - Contrast

How do you achieve a glossy looking Gum print versus a dull flat looking print?

Sizing with gelatine or PvA but it is not going to be that glossy as B&W paper prints. Maybe varnishing may also be an option once the paper is dry.

Acrylic varnish 1:1 diluted with water .. several coats of that does the trick

The gum print is not, essentially, very different of an aquarelle or tempera/acrylic paint. Varnishes from painters' shop work very well. I have tested some of them and they do the job nicely.

If you do go the acrylic varnish route, don't stack prints on top of each other after they have dried. They can stick together.
