Hello all. I've realised why some of my gum dichromate prints are not loking too good; it's because they are not contrasty enough. Does anyone have any tips for colour curves in GIMP or indeed a curve file ? Or would it be good enough just to alter the contrast to a level that loooks OK ?

Hello Stephen

You can find curves for Gumprints on the alternativephotography website
http://www.alternativephotography.com/wp/negatives/curve-corner-photoshop-curves
and for more informations on gumprinting using digital negatives: http://www.alternativephotography.c...chromates/19th-century-gum-bichromate-process
Dpug.org might be a better place than apug to find answers on digital negatives and curves, besides you can enhance the contrast of gumprints by changing the gum to pigment ratio. Take a look at Robert Demachy single Layer gumprints he didn't use digital negatives and was able to create fantastic prints. You can download one of his books on archive. org http://www.archive.org/details/photoaquatintorg00maskuoft
