I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I had my finder off camera and stored in bag. When I went to retrieve it the foldable box had come apart. See photo. Not sure how to/where the small 3 hole piece goes. Does it help in the folding of the finder? Thanks in advance.
Richard.
This might be the only medium format SLR I don't have a waist level finder for. Look on eBay at current and expired auctions and see how many photos of the finder you can find. One of them should show what you are looking for. You could also google the finder and try to find the manual for it. For me, the best thing about the GS-1 s the ability to hand hold it comfortably with a prism finder and Speed Grip. If I need a waist level finder for this format I use an RB or RZ camera. I'd still like to get a waist level finder for the GS-1 eventually just to have it but I don't think I would use it very much.
I've got my WLF in front of me now, and it looks like you basically have it in the right configuration. Hopefully you have the three tiny screws that hold the parts together. There should also be a long spring at the bottom of the assembly to provide tension to hold it open or closed. Let me know if you need any pictures or other help.
Thanks for the responses. Tom I didn't find the three tiny screws you mention. Might have known that's what the three small holes are for! As for the attachment, does that small piece attach to the inside plate(above finger in photo), then screw into back of the foldable box?
The small bar with the screw holes goes on the outside, then the folding part, and then the back of the box. (not inside) It all kind of acts like a gimbal to fold the viewing box down when you close the lid.
