Hi all!

A week or two ago, I picked up a nice, clean Nikon F100 as a "fun toy" alternative to my D700. From the day I got it, I think I've truly enjoyed shooting film more than shooting digital. Can't really explain why. I've been through two rolls of Portra 400 and one roll of Ektar 100 and I think that'll be just the tip of the iceberg. I have another roll of Ektar, three more Portra 400, and one each of Ektachrome E100VS, expired Kodak High Definition 400, and way way expired Samsung Prime Color 200.

Anyway, I saw the "introduce yourself" forum and figured I'd drop a line!

Hi Matthew,

Good to have you here. Lots of very knowledgable people around for almost any analog photographic topic you could imagine. And most of them are quite anxious to help, so don't be hesitant to ask. There are no silly questions.

(A darkroom, while really a cool thing, can certainly wait until you get your feet settled onto the analog ground...)

Take care,
Ken

Hello,

Now get some darkroom gear and try BW

John

Definitely part of the plan. I'd like to pick up some Tri-X and the supplies/chemistry to develop it myself. I don't think I have a good space to set up an enlarger and make prints though, so it'll just be scans for the time being.

I appreciate the warm welcome from everyone as well!

You aren't too awfully far from me. Contact me if you ever need help or a lesson in B&W developing. CL always has some good deals in your area for gear.

Matthew welcome to the team, I handed all my digi Nikon gear to my wife a while ago and have never looked back. If you get into darkroom dev/printing, I highly advise a site visit to see how the magic all comes together, Rick is a class act to have offered!

Hey Matt... What's the "Cajun" in your name mean?

I'm from south of I-10 myself.
