I am a retired man who has lived in Wisconsin for 13 years now. As I prepare for Winter I am gearing up for a photographic journey to which I have looked forward for many years since the first time I read about photography when just a mere boy. Just hope that my body will hold up just a little longer so I can see this aspiration to the end. That goal is, of course, to make a fine print of my own creation.
To prepare for this endeavor I made a darkroom out of a spare bedroom and have finally started using it this month. I am starting out by doing film testing on Ilford FP4+ 120 format. All of my chemistry and paper is Ilford. So far I have developed and printed the testing on 5 rolls of film. I too, was challenged by the loading of the film onto the plastic reels from Paterson, but I have conquered that and have moved onto the next hurdles.
I have read many books and articles about analog photography and finally became a member of your community. I have read many of the posts on this site and like the quality and quantity of good information in them.
My format of interest at this time is 120. I have put together a Bronica ETR and a Pentax K1000 kit. Recently I found a Ricoh Six folder (6 × 6 only) in surprisingly great shape. I repaired the lens and just about finished the first roll in it. I put Ilford XP2 in it.
As this project is the fulfillment of a life long dream of mine, I am prepared to go in whatever creative direction it will take me. Except for one. And that is into pornography, which I vehemently disdain and abhore.

Welcome to Photrio. I hope you get much enjoyment from your participation here.

Welcome to Apug!
(Though from your words we must fear you crank up our average age level even more...)

I am sure you will find it nice here. .
(But beware, last week in our technical(!) section two "porn" titled threads have been started. You better avoid these...)

Welcome to Phototrio! I do ask you to please realize that much of what you read here is personal opinion, even if based on experience. I feel that I must ask if you consider what we, in the old days called a "classic nude" as pornography? It was definitely "not" what we see (no pun intended) today in most cases. Sounds like part of your "dream" has led to to your own darkroom so you have everything needed. Now comes the hardest and most full-filling part of all. It is now up to you......Regartds!

Thanks for the welcome, Matt. (Sorry, could not resist that one.) But seriously, thank you for taking the time to say Hi. I have already enjoyed reading many of the members and subscriber's comments and helpful thoughts. There is so much to learn. And that for me is the enjoyable part. TTYL.

Yes, and they were typos. One meant to be "corn and the other was "torn". But thanks for the heads up anyway.
Thanks for the welcome. Glad to be here. (Just a few degrees warmer would be nice, tho.)

Welcome... and congratulations on finally having the time to pursue your dream!

Ansel Adams said in his introduction to "The Camera" on page Roman Numeral X "My work represents me..." I hope that any creative direction I decide to take with my analog photography will always show that I have respect for life, fellow human beings and especially for women. I would not be drawing this breath if it were not for the creation of woman. I hope that the photos I make represent me, too, and reflect all that I believe to be true in my life.
