Hi All,
I discovered this wonderful site by accident (saw a reference to it on another photo site). Honestly, I was unaware that a traditional-photo site even existed. What a great surprise.

I am in my mid 40s, live in Southern California (Desert) and shoot 35mm Nikons. I feel lucky to live near many excellent photogenic locations (Death Valley, Eastern Sierras (Mt Whitney/Onion Valley/Alabama Hills), Yosemite Valley, etc).

Having been away from photography for about a dozen years, I ventured into the digicam world a couple of years ago. I eventually ended up purchasing a DSLR (Nikon D70s) last July. After a few months, I found myself taking my old Minolta XG-7 along on my outings. As I shot both digital and film, I couldn't help but feel a strong 'pull' towards film. I can't explain it, but somehow I felt compelled to shoot film again.
So, a couple of months ago, I found and purchased a nice Nikon N80 on eBay (my XG-7 was showing it's age and I was experiencing problems with the shutter, meetering, etc). I also picked up some new lenses and am increasingly shooting more film and less digital.

Long term goal would be to get another 4x5 (had and sold  a Culumet some years ago).

I am looking forward to being a part of the APUG community and learning from the many talented/knowledgeable members already on-board.

Welcome back to film, Bob, and to a great community of folk. I envy you those warm, sunny locations to shoot - mostly the warm right about now. Feb in New England is not much fun, even in the warmest year in awhile.

Hope to see some of your stuff soon.
