Welcome aboard Scott, we're happy to have you (back)!
It's like riding a bicycle! You never really forget - the only thing you tend forget is how much fun it can be.
Very true! Welcome, Scott.
This all started from a desire to scan my old negatives. I’ve had an old Epson v500 scanner for years, but the challenges of outdated software, curled negs, etc got me looking for an alternative solution. Sifting through this old film produced an unintended consequence - remembering how much I loved the methodical nature I had with film photography - something I personally lost when I committed to digital.

I actually put it down for 10 years myself. I got married, and we have a small house with limited storage space. I wanted to make some room for my wife by selling the old gear. I did sell a few things initially, but once I started going through the items and handling them, I started using them again, and got re-hooked. Now we have less storage space, but I have a lot more fun, and she enjoys the portraits she gets.

I'm sure your wife will appreciate being allowed in after you sell that gear
Well now the gear is piling up again, so we take turns using the house.
Welcome to Photrio, Scott!
Hi Scott,
Welcome from fellow Brooklynite in the neighborhood near Pratt. If you find yourself wondering down Myrtle Avenue, like no saint has done before, stop into Moot on the Classon corner for a pint and a couple legs of 501.
Chris
Hey folks!
Just got back into film photography for the first time since the mid-90’s. Plenty to relearn, and while researching I’ve found myself on this forum numerous times. Figured it was time to take the plunge!
I’m shooting with a Nikon FT2 that I picked up fairly cheap - and of course dealing with the fallout of “saving” that money. Also have a few lenses that I’ve been messing around with. I’ve replaced the seals and gotten camera/lenses pretty clean - but I’m still testing the meter/exposure performances with the first few rolls.
A big thanks to everyone who contributes here. It’s been an amazing resource, and I look forward to learning more in the future.
Scott
