I really don't like intro threads, so I'll just keep this brief.
Long time lurker/searcher/reader, just decided to begin posting.
I live in Asheville, NC.
Getting "back" into film because my kids began "taking pictures and being a photographer" by playing with a beater Pentax K1000 I had laying around. I'm trying to find some decent, easy-to-use film camears for them to use, probably p&s to start. I can't let them have all the fun so I've been picking up some cameras I could never afford before, so in a way it's all "new" to me all over again. Mainly sticking with 35mm at this time, until a heckuva deal on a medium format camera drops on my lap.
I'm mostly into Olympus OM stuff, love my Pentax MX, and recently scored a Leica M3 which I am beyond excited about.
Hoping to set up a primitive darkroom in the basement at some point this year.
I rediscovered a few boxes of slides and a huge box of prints from pictures I've taken beginning in the mid 1970's through the early 2000's. Good memories!

Hi Jon, and Welcome Aboard.

The K1000 is probably one of the easiest cameras to learn on.
It was standard kit for many photographic schools, as the first real camera for the students.

Thanks for the welcomes, much appreciated.
My kids are kinda young, so I think p&s with film will be a good way to teach them some patience with the whole load/compose/shoot an entire roll/get film developed process, rather than the instant gratification of d!g!t@l.
My beater K1000 has no light meter, so in that way it would not be much help to them. When they get a little older I'll let them use my MX, or whatever other "simple" camera(s) I may have found for them to use.

Hi Jon,

I'm an Oly d*****l shooter and love Zuiko lenses! I'd been searching for an Olympus OM-4 T or Ti for a while but couldn't find a reasonable one. I'm looking forward to seeing your Olympus shots.

Thanks everyone.
I'm making a slight shift in my Olympus stable, with some old stuff being replaced with "better" stuff. I'm taking a quick trip to New England this summer, so hopefully I can give everything a good work out then.
