Discovered your site when searching about the future of FILM—you know, that stuff that you WIND through a proper camera.

i shoot every size from a subminiature Minox to 35mm, to 2-1/4” medium format. I shoot film and digital, and use a Nikon Super Coolscan 8000ED to switch from film to digital. I use a Leitz Focomat IC, and a Leitz Focomat V35 with both color head and polycontrast head. I’m a MAC guy. For specific cameras, I use my Riga Minox camera, Nikon F, F2, F3, and F5, along with the D2X, D3, and D3S. I also use Leica to include Leica M5, MP (modern), and Leicaflex SL Mot, SL2 Mot, Leica SL, and SL2S, and Hasselblad 500 EL/M, 503CW, and 903SWC. Optically, I have pretty much everything, including dozens of Nikkor lenses from 7.5mm, to 13mm, to 1000mm reflex. In Leica I have many lenses in both M and R mounts. I use adapters to put Nikkor, M and R lenses on my Leica SLs. I use a lot of adaptors to be able to use most of my odd ball lenses on different bodies. I like to shoot mostly landscapes, nature, and architecture, but started out in fashion. I maintain a true wet darkroom in my home. I’m eager to find what everyone is using for film today, both in BW and color. I even have many rolls of odd ball films in my freezer since about 1970, including Extachrome Infrared. I begin my photography around 1970 with a simple brand new Nikon F and used primarily Tri-X film which I processed in D76, and used Dektol for printing. Occasionally I would use Agfa Rodinal, Diafine, and Accufine. Time. That’s my problem. I have so little time anymore to fully enjoy the hobby. I also have thousands of Kodachrome, Extachrome, and Agfachrome slides in 35mm format to play with shot all around the world. I recently added another 2 1/4” Hasselblad slide projector to my collection since I larger format. I have some experience with 4 by 5 but it is quite limited. I’m located in Santa Barbara California but also maintain homes in Sacramento and in Clear Creek (near Mount Lasson). I’m retired but still keep up rentals which takes up too much time, but worked in the military as a flying officer, and in the area of plasma physics and other high power radar applications. Water, snow skier, rock climber, race car driver, car collector (modern and classic Porsches), Rolls-Royce and VW Vanagon! Enjoyed global flying but have slowed down in that for a few years. Been as far north as Iceland and Greenland, south as far as Nicaragua, West as far as Korea, and East as far as Afghanistan. Still much to see! Eagerly awaiting the availability of Fujichrome 50 in 2-1/4”!! Had my last roll of Kodachrome 25 processed in the last week that the final Kodachrome processor in the USA shutdown. Despite the lack of instant gratification with digital, film needs to come back to that today’s photographers can learn the science of rolling a 36 exposure roll of film on a steel reel in total darkness, and watch in wonder as an 8 by 10 print comes to life in a tray of paper developer! Some of my most treasured possessions: my Leitz Focomat V35 enlarger, my Brumberger 11 by 14 papersafe, my Nikkor AIS 13mm f/5.6 lens, and my two Leica MP bodies. Sorry to run over.

Since you own and use Hasselblads, we know that you are a wise man.

You let us post photos here?? I can’t even reply to a guy about buying some film on his sale listing. Maybe they don’t let us strangers ramp up too quickly.

Welcome to Photrio.
Yes, we encourage you participate in threads that show pictures, and illustrate things with uploaded pictures. Use the Attach files function, or one of the several embedded tools that allow linking to images.
To participate fully in the galleries, one needs to upgrade to a paid subscription.
The other restrictions are in place because they are part of the tools employed to help defeat the crowd that likes to quickly drop in as a new member and either spam or scam the members here. It has been our experience that people who join and actually participate in the threads rarely do that, so we restrict a portion of the access until people have at least 20 responsive posts.

If you were trying to buy some Double-X from RoboRepublic, I think we can make it happen.

I’ve been hanging around here for a while and have every lens and camera that you don’t.

I first found this site while researching a 4x5 camera (Littman 45 single) and started using TMAX 400 (I worked for Kodak until they sold off the division). TMY2 is a wonderful film in all respects except the shape of the grain in 35mm enlarged to 11x14 (all I ever do).

When Jarin Blaschke came here to talk about using Double-X for his film “The Lighthouse” I took notice. The grain of Double-X is beautiful. And in the opening pages of the Tao of Ching, once you see something as beautiful, you see other things as ugly.

So swing by Pacifica and meet me at the Beach Monkey for some coffee and I’ll spool up some rolls of Double-X for you.
