I can't believe there isn't a sport photography sub-forum here, and if this should be moved, please do.

Citius, Altius, Fortius

Pick you most iconic/telling/moving/artistic of an athlete at play, candid or posed prior to 1988. Time must wash away fleeting fads before true greatness can be seen.

I will start off with the product of the greatest love affair even known between athlete and camera: any image involving Muhammed Ali.

I've chosen this lesser known but superb shot (though not actually my absolute favorite*)

*My favoite image is MA sitting relaxed at country restaurant. He cool, calm, and at ease. Too bad I can't find it. When I do, I'll post it.

Charlie Warner's 1954 photo of Bannister and Landy during the "Miracle Mile" - the first race ever where two runners ran the mile in less than 4 minutes. In the final turn, Landy looks over one shoulder as Bannister passes him on the other.

I have a particular affection for this because in the 1970s I actually made prints from the original 4"x5" negative.
