Great Otway National Park: Moonlight Head Circuit: a walk on the wild side 10.6.13

How abouts I swell the ranks of the Otway Ranges Walking Track Association this Sunday on a walk of the Moonlight Head-Wreck Beach circuit?

Occasionally the group mixes it up and breaks away from the well-trod Trans-Otway Waterfall Walk (I will be leading a walk on this in the next 3 weeks) and goes coastal, in this case, SW from Lavers Hill to Moonlight Head. Visit The Gables, Moonlight Head, Devil's Kitchen campsite (part of Great Ocean Walk) and the anchors of 'Marie Gabrielle', which lost its cargo of rum and whisky here in 1869, bringing no end of joy to the colonial yokels perched on the cliff-tops above waiting until darkness fell...

You will need to be prepared for inclement weather, especially along the wild, unblemished Wreck Beach. Post-walk, din-dins at Lavers Hill Tavern. There is a caravan park next door (I am staying in a cabin) or continue home.

Notate here or PM me so I have an idea of who's coming. Final details put in place around Friday afternoon.

If these are with Otway Ranges Walking Track Association then it limits the amount of photography due to time and people. I though you were heading down their.

I share your concerns about time and people!
Only this Sunday's walk is with the Otway Ranges group (I'm only taking XA and Nikky the digi). All other weekends are my own walks on Trans-Otway Waterfall Walk routes (e.g. AB & Staircase Falls, Wild Dog Falls...). They only walk once a month (first Sunday). I think even that is too much for them sometimes...(!)

Tempting, tempting... If it's the 10th (ie, Monday) I could probably make it, but if its Sunday (the 9th) then it might be less likely... Hmmm...

I've made a mistake! :eek:
The Moonlight Head walk is on Sunday 9th, not 10th (as if they walk on a Monday...).
I got my dates muddled because I will be staying on in Lavers Hill on the night of 9th, when I have some of my own walkies to do on Monday 10th (Redwoods and Aire River).Sorry!
