Fantastic! My product ideas for them:

-Make a chromogenic b/w slide film that gets developed in K-14

-Make new Ilfochrome paper, but with a Kodachrome emulsion

-release Delta 3200 Super in Super 8/DISC Format

-make a disposable medium format camera

-make a 3D printed 8x10“ digital pinhole camera

Ilford already makes a b&w slide film; it's called XP2. Develops beautifully in E6 chemistry.

Mixed message labels are always fun, prank or not. Before I retired, I was in charge of a huge segment of business selling contractors power tools. But they were always looking for a better deal. So they'd buy direct from "Factory Direct" trucks at the big local flea markets. We also had a tool repair division. So when those too-good-to-be-true priced tools showed up nonfunctional a couple of days after purchase, we had to politely inform that they'd acquired an unrepairable Chinese counterfeit. Both Bosch and Makita both happen to have blue housings. In a particularly humorous case (at least for me), someone brought in a small electric jackhammer labeled, "Bosch, Made in Japan" on the side, with another label, "Makita, Made in Germany" on the end. You'd think they would have spotted that discrepancy.

A disposable mf camera would be fun. As the film costs less than the backing paper, why not get rid of the backing paper? Will help to keep costs down.

The lens doesn't have to be great for landscapes. As long as it is pleasing for portraits, it's plenty good enough. Just like the (very) old days. Hand over your camera and get back the prints from your previous camera plus another loaded camera.

Ilford already makes a b&w slide film; it's called XP2. Develops beautifully in E6 chemistry.

XP2 is NOT a slide film and is made to be developed in C41 and NOT E6, to make prints and NOT slides. Check it out on the web and you will find people who have tried XP2 in E6 with terrible results!

BUT, others have home processed in B/W chemicals with good results.

I know this is an April Fool's joke, but ...
I personally feel that a Kodak-Ilford merger wouldd be bad for all of us.We would get TX400 or HP5+ with TMax or Delta.
I hope both remain successful as unrelated companies.

Remember : Why is Ilford not comming up with a NEW ISO 400 bw film! It doesn't matter if this film
would have Tgrain or if it would be a classic emulsion film!
Such film would cannibalize Ilfords todays bw portfolio!

A Kodak - Ilford merger would cannibalize one of these todays proper campanies in total!

with regards

PS : Beside the fact that "cannibalism" is strong forbidden within the western hemisphere
(and in most other parts of the world.....:whistling:)

PPS : Ilford may bring out a New classic bw film from old recipe (one of that films discontinued many decades ago [beside the old PanF, Fp4, Hp5 versions!)
But such film would (perhaps) destroy the business plan of Ferrania in total! Because the bw film marked is totally saturated at this moment (what is not said that this situation possible "can" change!)
From my point this will not happen within the next 2 years:sad:!
