Not only are the photographs and the essay excellent, but it's great to read the enthusiastic responses below. Film just isn't as dead as so many folks think it is.

Nice to read. Maybe one day in our lifetimes a critical mass of people will come to a realisation that slowing down many things can be a pretty nice way to live... Slower photography, slower eating, slower communication (less regular but more meaningful), slower travel (enjoying a journey not just the destination), slower working (based on doing a great job rather than simply maximising profits), slower learning (based on a life of rich experience rather than a series of crash courses)... More soul, less speed. All seems pretty unlikely, I guess.

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed the article and the pictures. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised to read the the New York Times no longer has a darkroom at their headquarters.
