Hi all,

recently I found this wall calendar with photographs by Josef Hoflehner (www.josefhoflehner.com) on photo-eye and I ordered it, I got it a few days ago - it is really cool, the photographs are really great, and it is perfectly printed!!! it looks perfectly on my wall!! as photo-eye says: "Beautifully printed on matt art paper and more than two feet tall, this is an impressive (and sizeable) work. A must have, and available only in a very limited supply."

check it out:
http://www.photoeye.com/templates/mShowDetailsbycat.cfm?Catalog=ZC637

I also found a new book by Josef Hoflehner:
http://www.photoeye.com/templates/mShowDetailsbycat.cfm?Catalog=ZC614

photo-eye says: "Hoflehner takes us on a stunning journey to different tranquil and secluded locations throughout Europe. Some of these photographs are so surreal that they don't seem like they were taken in this dimension."

if you have never heard about Josef Hoflehner, you really need to check out his website: www.josefhoflehner.com
there are tons of great photographs online.

Interesting how so many contemporary photographers are offering similar images: poles in water blurred to cotton candy uniformity, a centered pier out into similarly blurred water, looooong exposures at twilight or later giving a silvery softness to sky and earth (usually water it seems) and a strongly graphic composition etc, etc. I used to find such work quite wonderful because the strength of design was so compelling, but of late I am finding it tedious to look at for very long....there's just not much to see. Hoflehner has some very nice images on his site, but for the $47 price of the calendar, I wish I could choose which ones to include in the dozen.

yes the price of $47 is a bit high on photo-eye, but i found it on Hoflehner's site for 32.50 EURO that's $39.. BUT it is large and great, and it is worth all the 47 USD

Wait a little bit longer and it will probably decrease in price. By mid December maybe they will be paying you to take it!

End of Year Project for all - Make your own calendar! That way if you tire of the image, you can change it out.

Thanks for the update, Manalishi. However, sight unseen, that's still waaay to much for my wallet at the moment. As Joe says, a calendar of my own would be an interesting project and a bit more realistic as a non budget-buster. Thanks again, though.

jovo, I understand... I also have the 2005 Michael Kenna Calendar and that one is MUCH smaller than the one by Josef Hoflehner, and it costs about $26. The Hoflehner calendar is about 120% larger, the image sizes are about 16"x16" in brilliant quality.. manalishi
