I spent some time with Grant this Sunday and this morning. We discussed his last book, "Modern Photographic Processing" and his new book on Kodak cameras. His new book is now on sale and he is down to about 80 copies of his old book.

If you wish to order, try www.haistpress.com for ordering information

For the time being, Dave, listed as a contact, is not available as stated on the web site, but you can write Grant at Okemos. He is currently on his way to Michigan and will pick up his mail this week. So, go for it!

Interesting,
thanks for the heads up Ron.

I didn't see any info for the "Modern Photographic Processing".
At this time this is what I'd be interested in.

Do you know if there is any info available online before I write via USPS?

Thanks as always.
Bruce

Since Grant only has about 80 copies of the older book on hand, he asked me to mention it here on APUG.

The web site is not complete and will be updated within the next 2 weeks.

If you are serious about film and chemistry, buy the old book and read it from cover to cover and then read it again..Evan Clarke

Isn't Modern Photographic Processing a 2-part series? I assume a purchase of the book includes both? Any idea how much?

Would he inscribe it for me??

It is indeed a 2 volume set and purchase at $180 + Shipping + handling includes both volumes.

Contact Grant via the address or phone # on his new web site for information. He is currently on his way from Rochester to Okemos, as of this morning if things went as planned.

He did mention that if response was good for the 2 book set, he had an option to have more printed.

I've been interested in this book for a long time and didn't know there were new copies still available - I've only ever seen it in a library. I'm also aware of one sharp-shooter who split the two volumes and offered them for $200+ each on the net. As academic books go, the price on offer from the author is pretty reasonable and I think like most people here I'd rather my money go to him than some rentseeker on Amazon or eBay. OzJohn

Haist's "Modern Photographic Processing" is absolutely fascinating. I had the privilege of reading both volumes back-to-back some four or five times and have probably only touched the tip of the effort and knowledge it took to create the film and chemistry we all probably take for granted. Incredible.
