Hi, I am looking for a decent quality grain focuser to start my tiny darkroom. I will be enlarging from 35mm film to 8x10 paper. I am based in San Francisco Bay area. Thanks!
 
I have a Peak Model 1 that the mirror has some cleaning marks but works great. I know you can replace the mirror on those but I haven’t looked into it.
Let me know if it’s something you’d be interested in and I can send you pictures.

The Magna Sight actually has a benefit over the Peak IMHO, and that is its magnification, which, for my taste, is too low in the Peak. With low-grain films, the grain is hardly visible in the Peak but easily visible with the Magna Sight. Of course, the Magna Sight is limited to the center of the negative
 
I picked up a magnasight recently. It's great for viewing at a distance, which saves me a bit of back ache sometimes.
 
One that it’s always a pleasure to use is the Mitchell Unicolor grain focuser. I use that one whenever I can. Plenty on eBay and very reasonable
 

Ralph, thanks for sharing that information. I was not aware of that. I use a Micromega, which is nice, but have noticed that finder grained negs are a bit harder to focus.
