hello

A beginner asks about removing the lens from the lens board...as you know, the back of the lens (inside camera, behind lens board) has two notches, which appear to require a tool of some type (a 'fork' arrangement)...

Does the lens simply unscrew from the Graphex #2 shutter, or, is there a 'latch' (lack of better term) to depress beforehand? Initial, tentative attempts to undo it found quite a bit of resistance...we balked at applying more force until we checked with pros...

thank you

To remove the lens from the lensboard, you need to unscrew the lockring from the back of the board. Usually, you use a adjustable spanner to unscrew it, but you could possibly improvise.

It would be possible to unscrew the shutter from the lockring, but usually there is a pin sticking out the back of the shutter into a indexing hole in the board to keep it from rotating. Sometimes the pin has been removed, but if the shutter doesn't rotate best not to force it.

APUG and Jon--sincere thanks for helping out...

yes, there is an indexing recess for the pin...

armed with this new information, we might proceed now without needless anxiety...cool

Best,

Dean
