To all you Grafmatic 1268 users out there,

A couple of my Grafmatics are getting a little stiff pulling the slide and the drawer. Per a maintenance PDF I found online, I've used paraffin in an attempt to lubricate the slide and drawer by rubbing the paraffin along the edge of the slide and along both sides of the drawer. But, this hasn't seemed to help much.

Therefore, just curious what others are doing in this regard, if anything.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Best regards,
AlanH

hi alanh
have you removed the stuff that was in there
gumming things up before you added wax ?
i've had to lubricate things ( bag mag not a grafmatic )
and before i could shine up and make fast the pull
i had to take it apart and clean out all the 80 year old junk first ..

Good advice from John about cleaning them. I've used paraffin wax to lubricate them, but it rarely needs it.

If there's anything sticky, I like naphtha.

OK, David, please allow me to wax dumb here...

A bar of soap? What do you do? Slightly moisten a wash rag or cloth, rub on the soap, and then scrub the holder wherever you see grime?

Best regards,
AlanH

Brakleen (red can) works good to clean these too. I have lubed with lightweight oil like 3-in-1 oil or gun oil also.

Aargh. Sorry about that. Phone corrected "with" to "Roth". Clean with naphtha.
