I'm trying to get ahold of a 6x6 graflok back for my rb67. Anyone familiar with what I'm talking about knows that there are two general types, the backs with winding knobs and the backs with winding levers. I've read that the older backs with knobs aren't as "good" as the newer lever backs. supposedly the older ones don't hold the film as flat as the newer ones. Is the difference between the two noticeable enough to warrant avoiding the older backs and spending more on a newer one?

You want a proper RB67 back, that couples with the camera body properly. An RB67 back itself will fit a 6x7 etc Graflok back on a press/view camera etc. Plenty on Ebay.

I would get a 6x6 rb67 back if they existed. Or are you saying that a graflok insert will fit into an RB67 shell?

The "22" and "23" Graflex roll holders work on the RB67, I have several that I purchased to use with my Busch C 2x3 camera. The holders I have are all the knob wind and there is no problem with film in them.

As far as knob or lever this statement further clarifies the issue.

Knob wind holders are more reliable than the lever advance holders because there is no return spring to break.
