A while ago, I noticed that the front standard lock was loose, and found that a nut and a blade spring had come off, laying on the deck.

I thought I could reattach them, and indeed it is not hard to bring the front standard out enough to access its underside.

On first attempt, I did attach blade and nut but it is not working as intended, as not put in the right place, i guess.
The blade has a small detent 'peg' meant to go in a small hole, so I followed that hint, but no dice.

Any guidance on assembly order and position?

EDIT: fixed it, my assembly was correct, not tight enough.
I find the lock tightness adjustment very finicky. Plus. If not very tight, after a few cycles of operation, the brass nut just comes loose quite quickly.
Not prior experience to go by. Anybody encounter same issue?

Thanks for the above.

I need to better understand the tightening operation (step 2). my mistake is working from the underside, and may be not seeing a screwhead on the lever, but working with the screwdriver slot on underside.
Need to revisit in daylight and fresh mind.
And also think about a small dab of Loctite blue(?) on there.

The copy of the manual I have is nowhere near as clear as the one linked above, great!

Use the screwdriver slot in the lever from the bottom of the standard, hold the screw via the slot when tightening the nut. The width of the slot turn will make the difference between the standard locking or not. Tightening the nut securely is usually sufficient to prevent the nut from coming loose.
