The project is to make my own printed circuit boards in the old way.
It is a big multi-discipline hobby project and I may be about 75% through it.

I restored a vintage Graflex Photorecord f/5 84mm with some difficulty, learning a bit.
Now the shutter is good and the lens is rather sharp.

The lens is on the Speed Graphic with an RH/8 back.
The old RH/8 was, for close up, too loose on the Speed,
so I have temporarily tightened it with polyester tape.

The camera is on an optical rail connected to a vintage Eizo S2242W photo monitor via Nvidia XServer driver.
I have to do more machining work on the optical rail for accuracy and consistency.

The artworks are made in gEDA pcb.

I exposed two rolls of TMY 400 and the second roll at 2 second and f/16 seemed OK

The RH/8 frame is ideal for pcb standard ( inch) 2000mil by 3000mil ( 50.8 by 76.2 mm)
Which is exactly ( with saw kerf) 1/4 of the positive photoresist coated boards by MG Chemicals.
So after I learn how to do these boards there is possibility to do up to 4000 by 6000 .

The old Federal Enlarger here gave out barely EV7 with either LED or Incand lamps and visually with no blue,
so I decided ( perhaps in error) to go for more intensity.
After some fun and drama learning how to drive an old type Mercury Arc ( those old lamps are not intended for electronics)
the Hg lamp is running in constant current mode on a 30 kHz inverter followed by a DC bridge.

The lamp takes 15 minutes to full voltage which is inconvenient for multi exposures.
The lamp is horizontal over the easel. EV12.5 almost full sunlight, but i think there is additional UV content.

The first exposure ( at recommended 8 minutes) blew the resist image off the copper into the Ferric Chloride.

The third exposure at 1 minute 45 sec produced a useable printed circuit board, but there is still a problem.

Under the microscope, the TMY400 negative tracks ( should be black) but are actually a mosaic .

(Sorry I can't provide a macro)

I think the lens is resolving the dark areas between the pixels, and the sodium hydroxide is weakening the resist therein which breaks open in the last few minutes in the Ferric Chloride.

Next: I can lift the Hg_lamp on the enlarger to double the distance.
And I can expose another tmy 400 roll at f/8 or so to try to overexpose the tracks a bit.
And maybe the lens will not be so sharp if opened up !

Any comments will be appreciated.
