The Singer Graflex RH12 holder that I have looks in good shape but the spacing between frames on the roll is not even. Occasionally there is no gap between the frames, or even slight overlap.
I have had it serviced by Newton Ellis & Co in Liverpool but unfortunately the problem remains. Any suggestions as to how to overcome this? If anyone has a graphic displaying the workings of the film holder, that would be a help.

then add 1 to 2 layers of .1mm thick material to the take up roller item 44 to compensate for the reduction in film thickness which is the cause of the problem.
George, I have a pair of RH10 film holders one has very erratic spacing, the other's fine. When I get time I'll open both up to compare and see where the issue lies, they are the same age and type. It's rather frustrating that the repair manual isn't easily accessible, there's 3 on Ebay but postage to the UK is rather high.
That diagram is for the RH20, the difference between the RH8, RH10, RH20 is the cam, index 22. The cam in conjunction with index 27, lever index-lock determines the wind. Adding .010 to .020 inch diameter to the take up roller causes the film to move further when advanced which increases the space between frames by 1 to 1.5 millimeters.
I have the service manual complete in pdf for about the same price as ebay via paypal if interested.
