Is it possible, without destroying the roll film back, to modify an RH-50 roll film back to fit onto a 4x5 Graflex RB Series D camera ?.

means you cannot fokus via WLFThe film plane will be further back depending on the thickness of the adapter.
Thank you both, shutterfinger and foven_m, for your answers. Shutterfinger do you still repair Graphic cameras ?.means you cannot fokus via WLF
Yes.Shutterfinger do you still repair Graphic cameras ?.
I was given an OLD 4x5 graphic camera with a focal plane shutter from someone a couple of years ago and it looked as if it had been stored in a damp basement for a few years. Bottom line is that the mechanism for setting the focal plane shutter is totally seized but the curtains are open so the shutter on the lens can be used. I noticed a lot of white residue around the curtain roller ends but the bellows are in good shape with just a hint of moldy smell. I can send images so you can give me an idea if would be worth it to have it repaired.Yes.
The curtain rollers are brass, the wind mechanism steel. The curtain is likely stuck to itself. A new curtain will be about $200 and a full body CLA $175. Good working Speed Graphics are going for $450 to $600 currently.Bottom line is that the mechanism for setting the focal plane shutter is totally seized but the curtains are open so the shutter on the lens can be used.
I'll have a look and get back to you.The curtain rollers are brass, the wind mechanism steel. The curtain is likely stuck to itself. A new curtain will be about $200 and a full body CLA $175. Good working Speed Graphics are going for $450 to $600 currently.
Speed Graphics were made from 1907 to 1970. The serial number from 1907 to 1946 is embossed or ink stamped on the bottom of the camera top left side, 1947 to 1970 its on a plate riveted to the bed.
What is the serial number?
Hello shutterfinger: the serial # is 345309. The bottom shutter curtain roller moves freely but the top roller doesn't and the tensioning mechanism is seized but the release at the bottom works. It also has a Kalart Rangefinder side mounted which is badly corroded.I'll have a look and get back to you.

Thank you for that information. I'll download the file as soon as I'm done here. As always your assistance and knowledge is greatly appreciated. By the way the National Graflex II that you repaired for me a few years ago is still going strong. That dates to a 4x5 Speed Graphic made in the first half of 1945. Its called Anniversary Speed Graphic.
Download the Graflex C3 service manual at https://www.butkus.org/chinon/graflex/c-3_graflex/c-3_graflex.htm
C3 is the military nomenclature for the Anniversary Speed.
Thanks for the info. I just got rid of the back to a friend who has a Graflex XL camera.Doug
The film holders for a series d are bigger than the plastic plate on the roll film back. I at one time thought of making something with grooves to mount it ( and a 544 Polaroid back) in but just ended up using black masking tape to secure my he rollfilm and Polaroid backs. Never had trouble even shooting at 3,8f
