Graflex RH-50 roll film back onto a Graflex 4x5 RB Series D

Is it possible,without destroying the roll film back, to modify an RH-50 roll film back to fit onto a 4x5 Graflex RB Series D camera ?.

If I remember correctly the RH50 was for the Graflex XL, a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 camera. An adapter can be made to fit the RH50 onto a 4x5 Graflex back. The film plane will be further back depending on the thickness of the adapter.

Remove Plate Assembly-Adapter item 5. now cut the proper opening in a piece of black acrylic, plywood, or similar material. you might be able to mount it so that the film plane is at the same position as a film holder, if not the view ground glass can be adjusted about 1/8 inch to compensate for the extra distance to the film plane.

The RH50s were available in Graflock mount and also for the Graflex XL cameras. The XL version pins simply unscrew and then you have the Graflock model. I use mine on my Sinar Normas and Plaubel Makiflex cameras.

I was given an OLD 4x5 graphic camera with a focal plane shutter from someone a couple of years ago and it looked as if it had been stored in a damp basement for a few years. Bottom line is that the mechanism for setting the focal plane shutter is totally seized but the curtains are open so the shutter on the lens can be used. I noticed a lot of white residue around the curtain roller ends but the bellows are in good shape with just a hint of moldy smell. I can send images so you can give me an idea if would be worth it to have it repaired.

The curtain rollers are brass, the wind mechanism steel. The curtain is likely stuck to itself. A new curtain will be about $200 and a full body CLA $175. Good working Speed Graphics are going for $450 to $600 currently.
Speed Graphics were made from 1907 to 1970. The serial number from 1907 to 1946 is embossed or ink stamped on the bottom of the camera top left side, 1947 to 1970 its on a plate riveted to the bed.
What is the serial number?

Hello shutterfinger: the serial # is 345309. The bottom shutter curtain roller moves freely but the top roller doesn't and the tensioning mechanism is seized but the release at the bottom works. It also has a Kalart Rangefinder side mounted which is badly corroded.

I at one time thought of making something with grooves to mount it ( and a 544 Polaroid back) in but just ended up using black masking tape to secure my he rollfilm and Polaroid backs. Never had trouble even shooting at 3,8f
