For Sale or Trade. Classic 4x5 press/view field camera. This one is in outstanding operating condition. This camera was originally used by the Kennebunk, Maine Police Department for crime scene photography!
- The Kodak 127mm f/4.7 Ektar lens is clean and clear with no scratches, fungus, or cloudiness.
- The Kodak flash supermatic shutter works at every speed and sounds accurate. I have not tested the flash sync since the posts have been removed.
- The Kalart side-mounted rangefinder is dim but working fine and is accurate - matching the ground glass image and the footage scale on the camera bed.
- All camera movements - tilt, shift, rise/fall work fine and lock down tight.
- The bellows are clean, soft, supple, and light tight
- The infinity stops are correctly located.
- The side mounted shutter release works fine
- The whole camera is extremely clean for its age. (It dates from 1955, so it turned 70 this year!)
- The viewing hood snaps nicely into position.
- The camera comes complete with the desirable Graflok back which allows the use of many back accessories such as roll film backs.
- The ground glass and Kodak Ektalite fresnel screen are clean. The ground glass has two small chips in the glass which does not affect operation and is easily replaced.
- Also included in the auction is one dual 4x5 film holder and the original 1955 invoice with matching serial numbers for the body and lens.
I am asking $300 for the kit or trade towards a Toyo CF.45 composite body field camera.
